  • Why Are Some Rooms in My House a Different Temperature Than Others?
    You could have a problem with your ductwork. According to the Department of Energy, the average duct system actually loses between 25% and 40% of the conditioned air put out by the HVAC system. Our technicians can assess your duct system and determine if there are repairable leaks and tears, or if new ductwork is in order. It is also important that your ductwork is sized properly with your equipment.
  • What Is the AFUE Rating?
    Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency or "AFUE" shows you how much fuel is utilized and how much fuel is lost in a particular heating system. New heating systems are much more efficient than they used to be. If your home heating system is 10 years old or older, it could be about 60% efficient-meaning just 60 cents of every dollar you spend in gas to fuel the machine is actually utilized, and 40 cents is lost in the flue pipe. Today's new and improved heating systems are 80% to 90% efficient. When it comes time to replace your heater or furnace, you could see drastic energy savings reflected on your monthly bill.
  • What Is the SEER Rating?
    Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio or "SEER" is the rating that helps you understand the efficiency of your home heating and cooling system and how much a particular unit will save you in energy costs. Think of SEER for your HVAC system as MPG for your car. A car with higher MPG is more fuel efficient and will save you money. An HVAC unit with a higher SEER rating will help you achieve energy savings.
